It's been awhile..

My plan to do a 365-ish blog for Liam fell shot to say the least. He's a busy kid and hates having his picture taken so me being in his face all the time kinda made him nuts!

So here's a run down of the last few months
  • Liam was accepted into Head Start for they're 1/2 day program, only downside of that is that we are now on a waiting list until they have a spot
  • He is about 80% intelligible in his speech, which is great because in just November he was less then 70%. They are still working on his focus because the kid has the attention span on a goldfish!
  • He is amazingly smart, like too smart for his own good sometimes and I promise that if you try to sneak something by him he will catch you!
  • He has told me that his sister is his best friend
  • He LOVES Ironman and Transformers... and pretty much anything else "comic book". If you ask him what side he's on when it comes to Transformers he will quickly tell you he's a Decepticon and I totally believe him because he can act like the bad guy A LOT!
  • He has been to the ER twice in the month of August. The first time was for croup but it was being covered up by his asthma and the poor kid couldn't even breath. I never knew it was physically possible to cough for hours straight, but it is! The 2nd trip was just this weekend. He thinks he's a big boy and always wants to help, he tried to close the door of our truck and faceplanted on the driveway and someone sliced his finger open, he's now sporting 9 stitches in that bad boy and a lovely bruise on the noggin!
  • We are potty training and he's doing pretty well, we've had a little set back wit this hole finger wound, I just don't want him getting pee on it! He has already worked his way up to earning a new fishing pole and he's pretty stoked about it!
I'm sure there's more but that's about all I can think of, they're pretty major points so I don't think I left anything important out!

day 2/365

Today we broke into the birthday presents, thank goodness for color wonder markers! Liam was coloring in his book and little sister Chloe decided to color too, the markers were everywhere but I knew they were having a great time! Of course Chloe was gone when it came time for pictures!

Liam is also very excited for a few things this week, starting his speech group at a school and taking a road trip to VA, daddy is going away again and we're gonna meet up with him down there along with Dennis, who is Liam's best friend!

Liam's 3rd birthday!!

So this is officially day 1 of our 365 day adventure! Liam had a great day today, he was so excited about his pizza party and walked around telling everyone he is 3! He got a lot of great gifts, I'm not sure what to get him for christmas since he got so much and so far the present of the day is the drum set he got from Uncle Joey, Aunt Brynn and Kar-Kar!

The loot!
His most favorite gift, I think I might have a star in the making!

big cheesy grin!

a few days before his birthday but I thought I'd share because they're cute.. he's starting to dress himself!

IEP Meeting

Liam has been receiving speech therapy through Early Intervention for over a year now. It's been amazing, his teacher is awesome and he's made some real progress. He's transitioning out of the infant/toddler program and entering into the preschool program since he's turning 3. We had the meeting today to discuss his goals and the new plan. he will be what they called "part-time/part-time" which means that for 1/2 hour 1 day a week he will have a teacher come out to the house o work with him and then another 1/2 on a different day I take him to a school where he will work in a speech group setting with 1 or more children. I'm really excited for him because he'll be getting some more social interaction and hopefully we continue to move forward with his progress.

I'm so thankful for Early Intervention and for his teacher now Jen, it's hard moving on because she's become a huge part of our routine and I truly believe Liam will miss her but I know we'll get another great teacher and we can always keep in touch with Jen!

A work in progress...

I decided to start a blog for Liam just to keep everyone in the loop on things that he's doing. Starting on his birthday we're going to jump on the "365" bandwagon where I will attempt to take and post at least 1 picture a day of him for a whole year. He doesn't know what he's in for yet but it will be fun (for me at least!)
